Just the way you are

just the way you are

Stop trying to be somebody you’re not! Many times we are so worried about fitting in with the crowd that we change who we are so people will accept us. Ultimately, being yourself is the best person that you could ever be. Be yourself because everybody else is already taken.

In the media, there is always a standard of what’s hot and what’s not. There are certain trends that you must follow or items that you must buy in order to fit in with society. As humans, we have this instinct that automatically makes us want to have the new thing or the latest style. However, who was the boss that said that if you didn’t have these things you’re not “cool” or “popular.” I believe that we shouldn’t want to be like everybody else because pretty soon we are all going to be clones of one another. We should be proud of who we are and not change our character because in the end, it will backfire on us.

be yourself

In the book I am currently reading, The Count of Monte Cristo, the main character Dantes, changes into many different disguises to be accepted by other characters in certain situations. However, he is playing so many different characters that I think it will be hard for him to keep up these disguises and eventually, it will backfire on him. This has shown me that it is difficult to be somebody you’re not, so you should just be yourself. Don’t let other people change who you are and don’t try to change other people to be like you. Everybody is unique and beautiful in their own way, and that’s the way it should be. Simply become who you are.
